As an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Kean University, I am constantly presenting to my students the powerful results of content rich marketing material.
Most entrepreneurs are not utilizing their materials sufficiently. First off…is the back of YOUR business card blank? If it is… you are not effectively using 50% of your business card.
Next…please follow this ratio: For every FEATURE that you present about your business….list THREE BENEFITS that a potential client will receive or achieve as a result of your services or skills. This 3 to 1 ratio is critically important. Remember it’s about what’s in it for THEM….i’ts not ABOUT YOU! Look at your materials, and reviewe them thoroughly, as if you were seeing them for the first time.
Offer a service that has a “call to action” on the part of your potential customer!
And it has to be worthwhile of their time… beccause you are asking to begin a relationship with you. One of my past coaches always said that business is always about building your relationships with your customers. And that is true.
Next, list at least 2 testimonials on any or all of your marketing materials, so that people can relate to and or contact them.
And on your voice mail, always state where people can find you on the internet.
Remember you ALWAYS want to reinforce how they can find out more about you and the POWERFUL results they will achieve as a result of your business services.
